How to: Survive Long Flights
So. I scheduled two trips this month (one of which requires me to jetset around an entire continent)... YAY! But, that means I am going to spend over 50 hours on a plane... EW! Here are some of my trips to make traveling less painful.
1. Water Bottle - Hydration is the only way to beat jet lag. Bring an empty water bottle to the airport and fill it up at a water fountain to avoid overpriced water.
2. Trail Mix - Meals can feel few and far between during long hauls across the world... I also fall asleep through most of them... trail mix fills you up and keeps you full longer.
3. Extra Clothes - I have been stuck in foreign countries for long periods of time when layovers go haywire. You don't want to be stuck in the same leggings for days on end.
4. Headphones - This is just a must. You need these to watch movies and listen to music, or to drown out the sound of a baby screaming in the back row.
5. Eye mask and Melatonin - If I have these two, I am guaranteed to sleep for most of the flight. (Pro tip: Try to stick to the timezone of the city you are going to, that way the time difference won't drain you as much)
7. Scarf - I use big scarfs as a blanket because I freeze on planes.
8. Slip on Shoes - I absolutely never wear shoes on planes. They are way too uncomfortable, just make sure you wear socks so that you aren't too germ-y.
Get ready for some fun travel posts while I adventure Australia and New Zealand
